72 Volt Motor Manufacturer
At Innotec Power, we specialize in designing and manufacturing high-performance 72 volt motor for a wide range of industrial, automotive, and commercial applications. Our 72V motor lineup includes both brushless DC (BLDC) and permanent magnet AC (PMAC) technologies. By leveraging advanced permanent magnet design, these motors provide high efficiency, great torque density, and an extended service life—all within a compact form factor.
Our range starts with motors below 1 kW, which are ideal for auxiliary functions, then we have 3 kW 72 volt motor and 5 kW 72 volt motor and scales up to 60 kW of continuous power for traction and heavy-duty drive applications. Each 72 volt motor can be paired with an Innotec controller for either fixed-speed operation or dynamic control, providing design flexibility for a range of applications, from small e-mobility solutions to large industrial machines.
Overview of Our 72 Volt Motor Offerings
Innotec’s 72 volt motor portfolio features a variety of models designed to meet different power and torque requirements. Each motor is engineered for high efficiency and excellent thermal performance, with options for natural, forced-air, or liquid cooling, and includes both surface-mounted permanent-magnet (SPM) and interior permanent-magnet (IPM) designs:
- Compact 1–5 kW SPM Motor (145-FZS72-015): This model operates at speeds around 1,800 RPM and delivers torque ranging from 6 Nm to nearly 30 Nm, making it suitable for small vehicles and auxiliary drives.
- Mid-range 3–15 kW SPM Motors (255-BES72-045 and 255-CZS72-050): These compact units operate at speeds of 2,400 to 2,800 RPM with torque up to 67 Nm, making them ideal for industrial automation, conveyors, and mid-power electric traction.
- Efficient IPM Motors (255-EZI72-070, 255-EZI72-100, 255-FEI72-125, 255-FEI72-160): These 72-volt motors provide higher efficiency and power density, with power outputs ranging from 4 kW to 18 kW continuous, speeds up to 3,800 RPM, and torque up to 80 Nm. They are suitable for light electric vehicles, pumps, and mobile equipment.
- High-torque IPM Motors (255-HZI72-125, 255-HEI72-160): These motors offer up to 81 Nm of torque and continuous power from 13 to 19 kW, making them suitable for heavy-duty traction and industrial automation.
- Ultra-high-power SPM Motor (255-HZS72-250): Delivering 20 to 85 kW and torque up to 178 Nm at 5,100 RPM, this motor is designed for large electric vehicles and demanding industrial machinery.
- Flexible Multi-purpose IPM Models (255-AZZI72-160, 255-AZZI72-240): With continuous power outputs from 9.5 kW to 23 kW and mid-range speeds of 2,850 to 4,300 RPM, these motors are excellent for e-mobility, hydraulic pumps, and custom industrial applications.
Our comprehensive lineup, ranging from compact 1 kW solutions to high-power 85 kW drives, ensures you can find a 72 volt motor that meets your performance, size, and cost requirements.
Uses of 72 Volt Motors
Typical applications include:
- Electric forklifts and material handling equipment are used for both traction and lifting.
- Golf carts and low-speed electric vehicles require a compact size, and high efficiency is essential.
- Ground support equipment and utility vehicles which are often retrofitted from low-voltage systems.
- Agricultural and construction machinery, which powers hydraulic pumps, augers, and traction drives.
- Hybrid and electric buses, where 72 V motors handle auxiliary functions while higher voltages drive the main traction system.
72V BLDC Motors Offerings
Innotec’s 72 volt motors allow more power and reduce heating concerns versus the lower voltage variants. Innotec’s 72V units go up to 60 kW of continuous power output. These units can be built as a liquid-cooled unit, fan-cooled or passive cooling.
The 72V PMAC motors utilise permanent magnets to maximise the efficiency of the motors. Innotec’s rotors’ pre-excitation from the magnets is designed to maximise efficiency benefits. These motors are known for their high power density and efficiency.
72 Volt Motor Sensor Feedback
Innotec primarily uses hall sensors or sin-cos sensors in all of the motors. The decision will depend on the application and intended use.

Hall sensors and sin-cos sensors are both commonly used as sensors for PMAC (permanent magnet alternating current) motors. The choice between the two types of sensors will depend on the specific requirements of the application and the desired level of performance.
Hall sensors are magnetic sensors that are used to detect the position of a magnetic field. They are typically used to measure the position of the rotor in a PMAC motor and are often used in low- to medium-performance applications. Hall sensors are simple and inexpensive, and they are widely available. However, they are not as accurate as other types of sensors and may not be suitable for high-precision applications.
Sin-cos sensors, also known as resolver sensors, are electromechanical sensors that use a rotating transformer to measure the position of a rotor. They are more accurate than Hall sensors and are often used in high-performance applications where precise control is required, such as robotics and industrial machinery. However, sin-cos sensors are more complex and expensive than Hall sensors and may not be suitable for all applications.
Some of the applications where our motors go are very harsh environments, and some have a high importance for replaceability.
In general, sin-cos sensors are considered to be a better choice for PMAC motors in applications where high precision and control are required, while Hall sensors may be a more cost-effective option for lower-performance applications. The specific choice will depend on the specific requirements of the application. We make this decision with the customer to see how pricing/cost/precision/durability and servicing affect the customer’s choices.
